With a good number of degrees in Bachelor of Business Administration BBA Course(H) available in West Bengal and in India alone, you might be forgiven for thinking that all the courses in this area are the same. While there are clearly some similarities in content, the BBA (H) and BCA (H) at NI have a number of distinctive features. These are:
Academic Education: The degrees are structured to give a solid foundation in all the basic disciplines of computer and management. The academic content is located within the latest research findings and is highly relevant to understanding both the theory and practice of management and Computer Science.
Action Learning: The acquisition of transferable skills is a very important part of the experience offered by the degrees. There are opportunities to acquire these skills through action learning activities which culminate in the final year term project where practical research takes place in a real organization.The curriculums are up-to-date and relevant. The students develop a wide range of appropriate software, business and management opportunities to broaden perspective of thinking.Duration : 3 years (full time) divided into 6 semesters.
Eligibility: Passed 10 + 2 with 50% aggregate in any stream.
Admission procedure: Counseling and admission directly at the institute counter and/or through merit list published by WBUT.
Curriculum: The BBA Course is a unique combination of multidisciplinary areas viz Principles of Management, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Production Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Business Environment, Organization-Behavior, Business Law, Business Communication, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Accounting, Management Information Systems. Students have the option to choose their specialization as elective subject in their personal areas of interest in the Final Semester.
Graduates in this programme will find a triangular career path :- i) BBA Course (H) leading to MBA, ii) BCA Course (H) leading to direct access to Corporate Job Market, viz Financial Services (banking and non-banking), Insurance Sector, Manufacturing Sector, FMCGs and many others. iii) BBA (H) leading to Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, Company Secretary-ship etc.
